Entrenamiento esencial

IDEL Training InstituteThe entrenamiento esencial is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the conceptual and empirical foundations of IDEL as well as training in administration and scoring of the measures. It includes a focus on the development of the IDEL measures and the linkage of IDEL to the essential basic early literacy skills in Spanish. The training will also include a model of how to use DIBELS and IDEL in a model of bilingual education, using both assessments to guide reading instruction.

This training is for any individual that will have the responsibility for administering and scoring the IDEL measures in your school or district as well as for any individual who will train others on the administration and scoring. The training will be in English with examples and practice in Spanish. Participants should feel comfortable understanding and conversing with native or near-native level Spanish-speakers.

Entrenamiento avanzado para entrenadores y asesores de IDEL

The entrenamiento avanzado is designed for those who have already completed the entrenamiento esencial and wish to extend their knowledge of IDEL so that they may provide training for others in their school or district. Participants who complete the entrenamiento avanzado will receive a CD containing all of the training materials for use in providing the entrenamiento esencial to others. Participants will also be able to observe and provide feedback to IDEL assessors and interpret and assist others in using classroom, school, and district-level IDEL data following the training.

Additional focus will be on how to support and improve bilingual or transition programs for native Spanish-speaking students. The training will be in English with examples and practice in Spanish. Participants should feel comfortable understanding and conversing with native or near-native level Spanish-speakers.
